One thing I didn’t expect when we visited Mallorca as a family was how blown away I was by the island’s beauty. Mallorca is full of stunning beaches and coves, quaint Spanish villages, epic mountains, and even gorgeous orange groves.
We spent 10 days in Mallorca with a rental car and tried to see as much as we could while also taking time to relax. This post is my list of 10 of the most beautiful places in Mallorca that we experienced on our trip that I hope you will love too.

Obviously, there are so many more beautiful places in Majorca than just these 10 places… but these are places we’ve experienced, were stunned by, and would go back to again in a heartbeat.

10 of the Prettiest Places in Mallorca
1. Cala Llombards
Cala Llombards is a beautiful cove on the East Coast of Mallorca with crystal clear water, a sandy beach, and a picturesque rocky shore lined with colorful boathouses.
We visited multiple beaches in Mallorca and to me, Cala Llombards was the most unique and beautiful beach of them all.
I loved the colorful boathouses and the rocks surrounding the cove were so pretty. My daughter loved playing in the shallows and looking for little crabs and fish.
If you have older kids they may enjoy jumping off some of the low rocks along the cove’s edge.

There are even swim ladders going up the rocks in different areas making it easy to get in and out. Plus there are stairs that go up the hill next to the cove for better views of the beach.

You can relax on the sand, rent tiki umbrellas with loungers, or lay on the surrounding rocks. There is also a beach bar with food, treats, and drinks.
We arrived at Cala Llombards beach around 12:30/1 pm and quickly realized the earlier you can arrive the better because Cala Llombards is quite popular. Although it was busy, we went right to the front to find a spot and played for hours.

We stayed about an hour away from Cala Llombards but the drive was worth it! I also hear there are other pretty coves on the east coast that we didn’t get the chance to see but hopefully we’ll make it back to visit more of them.
2. Ecovinyassa Orange Grove
One of the most surprisingly beautiful places we visited in Mallorca was the Ecovinyassa Citrus Farm.
Photos don’t do the area justice. The grove is nestled at the base of some amazing mountain peaks and the atmosphere of the grove is so peaceful and serene.

Ecovinyassa is a gorgeous orange & lemon farm located just outside the town of Soller and open to the public.

The area of Soller where Ecovinyass is located is known as the ‘valley of oranges’ because the area’s unique micro-climate allows the fruit to grow year-round.
At Ecovinyassa you can enjoy a beautiful self-guided walk through their orange & lemon groves where halfway through they provide oranges from the farm in a cool, shaded area with a table and chairs.

At the end of the walk in another extremely charming area under a large shady tree you get to try fresh-squeezed orange juice, orange marmalade and more (all from the oranges from the farm!).

Not only was this one of the presttiest places in Mallorca that we visited but the oranges and orange juice were literally the best oranges we’ve ever had in our life (and I’m not exaggerating). Our kids are usually hit-or-miss with oranges and they plowed through like 4 or 5.

If all of this wasn’t enough reason to visit, Ecovinyassa is also a perfect stop if you’re traveling with kids. At the start of the walk, kids are given little pails of corn to feed the chickens that hang out in part of the grove (which they loved) and halfway through the kids loved slicing their own oranges.
There is also a small play space at the end for them to play while you sip on your AMAZING fresh squeezed juice.

The whole experience took about 2 hours for us (which their website indicates as well). You could go much faster or slower but we felt like we took our time, enjoyed our walk, and relaxed.

You will find the town of Soller on most lists of places to visit in Mallorca. However, in my opinion, if you visit Soller but don’t visit Ecovinyassa which is just a 3-minute drive outside of town, you’re missing out.
This farm is an undisturbed, authentic oasis outside of the bustling (dare I say overcrowded) town of Soller.
If you want to visit both Soller and this orange grove, I recommend booking this guided walk from Sóller city center to Ecovinyassa. On that walk, you’ll get a brief tour of the village of Sóller plus get to walk past orange groves on your way to Ecovinyassa.
3. Son Alzines Hotel
Far and away the most beautiful location in Mallorca we experienced was a gorgeous farmhouse turned boutique agrotourism hotel called Son Alzines.

Son Alzines feels like its own peaceful world nestled in the Tramuntana Mountains surrounded by olive trees.
I’m convinced this 500-year-old DREAMY farmhouse is one of the best places to stay on the entire island. Staying here is what made our entire trip. It wouldn’t have been the same without it.
We rented the ‘family unit’ at Son Alzines which had two bedrooms and is the ONLY unit with a completely private patio with a small rustic garden with lime and lemon trees (swoon). Even if you don’t need two bedrooms, I’d recommend booking this unit.

The smaller units also have patios, but people walk past them whereas no one ever walks past the patio of the family unit.

We cooked ourselves dinner and ate outside every night on the stone patio accompanied by epic mountain views. It was heaven.

One of the evenings we enjoyed dinner out on the main hotel patio from the intimate, on-site restaurant. They served up Mallorcan specialties and even had something special for the kids.
We relaxed at the pool every evening after a day of exploring and just couldn’t get enough of the mountain views. I dare you to find a more beautiful place to stay in Mallorca.

4. Cala Molins
The most beautiful thing about Cala Molins is the stunning views of the rugged mountains piercing the sky in the distance (not to mention the stunning blue of the water).

I also loved the beautiful, large villas on the hillside overlooking the cove and the jagged rocks hugging the beach.

Cala Molins is a beautiful hidden gem in Mallorca that is often overlooked, but I think the views from the beach have got to be some of the most beautiful views on the island.

Depending on the weather, the water can either be calm or wavy. On calm days, you can rent kayaks or SUPs from Mon d’Aventura. We visited on a wavy day and had fun jumping in the waves but would have considered a SUP rental otherwise.

5. Old Town Alcudia
Old Town Alcudia is a beautiful city in the north of Mallorca dating back to the 1300s surrounded by medieval walls that you can walk atop!

It has the perfect mix of history, shopping, food, and flower-lined residential neighborhoods. We visited at the end of May and it didn’t feel busy (which we were fans of). Which, btw, you can read more about visiting Mallorca in May here.
However, if you want a much livelier atmosphere try visiting during the weekly markets held on Tuesdays and Sundays from 8 am-1:30 pm.

Only people who live in the old town can drive in the old town so you’ll encounter only a handful of cars while you’re exploring. And even then, many of the roads are still just for pedestrians.
There are great shops and restaurants scattered around Old Town Alcudia, however, a couple of good streets to head towards are Carrer del Moll or Carrer Major.

The shops in Alcudia Old Town are super cute, unique, and tasteful with a good mix of local wares plus more touristy shops but with some of the most tasteful souvenirs we saw on the island.

Something you can’t miss is taking a walk atop the medieval wall that circles the old town. It’s free to walk and you get atop via staircases in a couple of different spots.

To learn more about how to walk the wall and other things to do in Old Town Alcudia, check out my guide: 7 Fantastic Things to Do in Old Town Alcudia Mallorca.
6. Playa De Formentor
Playa de Formentor is a beautiful beach located in the northwest corner of Mallorca on the epic Formentor Peninsula. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca and has a very different feel than the other beaches I’ve listed.

Playa de Formentor brings you back to nature beginning with the the drive to reach the beach. The road is absolutely epic via windy mountain roads.
Once you reach the beach, you’ll find pristine, sparkling blue water with a long stretch of sand lined by a lush pine forest.
This beach is a great place for snorkeling since the water is so clear (I was shocked at how clear it was- and that’s saying a lot because there is a lot of clear water in Mallorca).

Although this is the sea, it almost felt like a large, pristine mountain lake because of the way the land wraps around it.
I had heard great things about Playa de Formentor but wasn’t sure I would like it because I usually am drawn to smaller rock-lined coves. But I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed our time here. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca!
There are a few restaurants tucked into the pine trees behind the beach in case you want to pick up some food while you’re there.

This small group boat tour to Formentor Beach plus the Formentor lighthouse and nearby hidden coves looks like an amazing way to visit this area (especially if you don’t want to drive on the windy mountain roads!). The coves this boat trip takes you to are usually only accessible via hikes.
7. Sa Calobra
The road to Sa Calobra, Ma-2141, is an epic windy mountain road. It twists and turns in ways I’ve never seen a road do before! The drive itself is beautiful, but at the end of the road is a unique pebbly beach sometimes called Sa Calobra or Torrent de Pareis.

To reach the beach, you take about a 10-minute walk from the parking lot down a hill and along the waterfront. It’s a really lovely walk with nice views of the water.

The best part of the walk is at the very end when you get to walk through a small tunnel carved out of the rock with windows cut out to see the breathtakingly blue water.

The pebbly beach is flanked by two, gorgeous rock cliffs backed up to a vast open area with big mountain peaks. I watched a lot of vlogs and read many blogs preparing for our trip and a lot of people said that this was their favorite beach.

If you want to experience Sa Calobra in a unique way, try taking this 2-hour speedboat tour where you get to snorkel at Sa Calobra and the nearby cove Cala Tuent. We saw a lot of boats come and go when we were at Sa Calobra and it looked like a fun thing to do.
Or this private 4-hour boat ride with a skipper and snorkel guide sounds pretty dreamy. Your personal group gets to visit multiple beautiful beaches in the area that you get to pick!
8. Formentor Peninsula
The Formentor Peninsula is the northernmost point of Mallorca with a lighthouse from 1863 at the most northern tip. The peninsula has beautiful cliff and water views, secluded coves you can hike to, and Playa de Formentor (that I talk about in this list).

One of the best and easiest lookouts is Mirador d’es Colomer. It’s right off the road with a small parking lot and a good viewing area. Another viewing area is the Albercutx Watchtower- but the road up to the watchtower is pretty sketchy with huge dropoffs on some sides without guard rails.
I absolutely hated the drive up to the watchtower but my husband was super chill about it so it just depends on your personality. But the views were pretty epic offering 360° views of the entire area.
It takes a confident driver to traverse the Formentor road because it is steep, skinny, and windy (and shared with loads of cyclists) with large drop-offs on some sides.
From June to September or sometimes October, the road is closed to cars and only accessible for the shuttle bus, cyclists, and hikers.

We visited at the end of May so this wasn’t something we had to do, but I understand why they close the road to cars because it was quite congested and people were parking and turning around in sketchy spots. Taking the shuttle bus would actually be a lot easier.
I’m pretty sure you can drive to Formentor Beach (Playa de Formentor) and park in the large parking area there to then take the shuttle bus the rest of the way or you can also catch the shuttle from Puerto Pollensa.

If you’re visiting during the months of road restrictions and don’t want to figure out the shuttle, consider booking a private tour to the peninsula instead. You can look at available Formentor trips on Get Your Guide.
One fun option would be to take the ferry from Puerto Pollensa to Playa de Formentor for some pretty views from the water and then catch the shuttle the rest of the way.
9. Fornalutx Village
We didn’t have time to explore Fornalutx Village on foot, but we did get to drive through on our way to the orange grove in Sóller.
Fornalutx is a beautiful small village surrounded by olive vineyards nestled in the Tramuntana Mountains. The view over the village as we came down the mountain was gorgeous.

The rustic stone buildings and narrow flower-lined streets are quite gorgeous. Keep in mind, Fornalutx is a very small village, but you’ll find some cafes in the main square of Plaça d’España.
I would love to take this small group tour of Fornalutx with a hike to an olive vineyard and olive oil tasting. It sounds so dreamy to hike in the Tramuntana Mountains and get a private olive garden experience. They even offer two different hike lengths depending on what you’re up for.
10. Port de Cala Figuera
We swung by Port de Cala Figuera for ice cream after playing at Cala Llombards and it was the most beautiful unexpected stop of our trip.

Port de Cala Figuera is a stunning fishing port located in the southeastern area of the island just a short drive from Cala Llombards. The marina’s hillside is lined with gorgeous, old Spanish homes and the water is lined with rows of fishing boats.

The road Carrer Moll on the south side of the inlet turns into a walking path in one direction to explore the marina. In the other direction, it turns into the pedestrian street called Carrer Verge del Carme lined with restaurants, cute shops, and gorgeous views of the water.
We got ice cream at Murmui Heladeria overlooking the water and even saw the big fishing boats coming in for the day!

Port de Cala Figuera felt like an absolute hidden gem. It was so quiet, beautiful and unique. Even the restaurants weren’t busy which was shocking with how pretty of views they had and how fresh the fish must have been that was being served!
Port de Cala Figuera is where this 2-hour boat ride to Caló del Moro & S’Almonia leaves from ( I talk more about those beautiful coves below). It’d be a great way to see them. We were so close to booking the boat trip but just couldn’t fit it into our itinerary.
Beautiful Places in Mallorca That Aren’t on This List and Why
Sóller: Sóller is a beautiful village in Mallorca that you’ll find on EVERY list of things to do in Mallorca. It’s conveniently located only 35 minutes from Palma which makes it a very popular day trip for people based in Palma or visiting Mallorca on a cruise (like this guided day trip to Soller from Palma).
None of this is bad, it just means that it can get REALLY crowded. We visited Sóller at the end of May and it was already SO busy.
It was like the wild west trying to get a seat on the picturesque tram to the port and the main square was very full. If crowds don’t bother you, then definitely visit Sóller! But be sure to add on a visit to Ecovinyassa Orange Grove while you’re in the area.

This private walk in Sóller starts in Sóller city center, down the main cute shopping street, and ends at the orange grove experience. I think this would show you all of the best parts of the area while skipping the stressful tram ride.
Caló del Moro & S’Almonia: Caló del Moro & S’Almonia are two beautiful ‘hidden’ coves in Mallorca made popular by social media. If you want to visit these coves, you’ll need to get there EARLY.
They are obviously not so hidden these days as evidenced by the INSANE amount of cars parked along the tiny windy roads on the hill above the coves.
There is no parking lot just parking on the side of the small one-way lane that circles the hill above the cove. We arrived around 11:30 and quickly realized we wouldn’t be able to park anywhere closer than a 30-minute walk from the cove. Plus, police were out ticketing everyone that was parked illegally.
Instead of visiting these beaches, we visited Cala Llombards which is nearby and was really beautiful as well.
If I was set on visiting these two coves, I’d book this small group 2-hour boat ride to snorkel off the shores of Caló del Moro & S’Almonia! It’d be a unique, fun way to experience these two beautiful beaches while beating the crowds!
Or this day trip from Palma to Calo del Moro and S’Almonia drops you off at these two beaches- it’d be much easier than driving and trying to find parking.
More of the east coast of Mallorca: Although we had 10 days in Mallorca, we could only explore so much! We only had time to visit a couple of places on the east coast of the island but I wish we’d been able to visit more. Let me know if you discover other beautiful places on the east coast of Mallorca and I’ll be sure to visit next time we go!
