7 of the Most Beautiful Places in Ibiza Spain To Escape the Party Scene
Ibiza is generally known for its huge party scene with DJs traveling from around the world to play at the island’s clubs. We received many confused looks from people when we told them we were going to Ibiza with our young kids.
I knew that there had to be more to the island than it’s well-known party scene and I was determined to discover it.

Ibiza initially came onto my radar because the year previous we discovered some of the most beautiful places in Mallorca Spain (the island neighboring Ibiza) and were totally blown away its beauty. I knew that another island so close must be beautiful as well.
I spent months researching Ibiza in hopes of finding the most beautiful and unique spots on the island, and I think we did just that!

We wouldn’t have even known the party scene existed had it not been for advertisements we passed on occasion.
If you’re looking to go beyond the parties and enjoy some of the nicest parts of Ibiza, then this guide is for you!
We visited stunning beach after stunning beach, beautiful old towns, and stayed at a truly beautiful oasis in the center of the island.

Of course, we could only explore so much in one week, so I know this is not a comprehensive list. However, these are the most beautiful places in Ibiza that we enjoyed and that I can speak to.

7 of the Prettiest Places in Ibiza Spain
If you’re looking for a rejuvenating and relaxing holiday, or even an amazing family trip it can be found in Ibiza! We spent a week visiting some of the most beautiful parts of Ibiza and never encountered the island’s party scene (besides advertisements along the roadside).

We visited gorgeous beaches with insanely clear blue and turquoise waters, colorful villages, and relaxed in the evenings at a quiet, beautiful oasis in the center of the island.
1. Cala D’Hort with Es Vedra Views
Of all of the beaches we visited (and we visited some stunning beaches), the views from Cala d’Hort were the most stunning. I had read that Cala d’Hort had amazing views of Es Vedra (a massive rock in the water) but I didn’t realize how amazing it’d be to see in person.

When we were driving to Cala d’Hort and caught our first glimpse of Es Vedra, my jaw dropped and I think I even said ‘whoa’ out loud without realizing it. It’s a pretty huge rock (I love myself a good rock though so that may also be playing into my reaction).
As the day went on, more and more white catamarans, sailboats and super yachts anchored out in the water which made the views of Es Vedra feel like out of a movie.

Hugging the left side of the beach is an extremely picturesque little dock and hugging the right side of the beach is a row of super cute boat houses. Also, the left the beach is more pebbly and to the right the beach is more sandy.
No matter what part of the beach you sit at, the water is blue and shallow for quite a ways out, and the ground is covered in extremely soft, white sand. It almost feels like a pool!

There are also areas of rocks that make for great snorkeling (but you will even find fish over the sand where there are no rocks!)
There are two restaurants with amazing views at Cala d’Hort that are extremely popular at sunset (and honestly even looked packed at lunch time). But the views really looked were breathtaking.

We arrived around 10:00 am in June and were able to snag a parking spot down the hill closest to the beach. However, once those spots are full, there is a parking lot up a large hill that’d be a long, hot walk in mid-afternoon.
I recommend arriving between 9 am and 10 am to get good parking and find a good spot on the beach.
2. Dalt Vila Ibiza Town
Dalt Vila is Ibiza town’s walled old city with over 2,500 years of history.

You can walk through the city’s gates that date back to the 1500s, admire historical cannons, stroll the colorful neighborhoods that are still lived in today, shop for souvenirs, or dine at one of many charming restaurants.

The main little walking streets for restaurants and shops is Carrer de la Santa Creu and Plaça de Vila. Be sure to make time to shop, eat (or at least get ice cream), and wander the colorful neighborhoods.

We visited in mid-afternoon during the heat of the day and managed to find enough shade and get enough of a breeze that it was okay. However, I’ve heard that it really livens up as it cools down in the evenings, and most establishments stay open until midnight or so.

If you want to walk up the big ramp under the main gate into the city, you can find that on Google Maps here.
Or if you are arriving by car (as we were) we parked at this parking lot and it was SO inexpensive (something like 1 euro for 3 hours), plus it was only a 4-minute walk into Dalt Vila through another smaller gate.

3. Cala Comte
Cala Comte is beautiful and unique in that every spot along the beach looks a little bit different.
Some of the beach is a larger section of sand, some of it is more cove-like like and other parts are more level rocks for sunbathing.

All of Cala Comte has beautiful views of various islands and if you are to the left of the beaches, you have beautiful views of the coastline.
When you arrive, you will come upon the restaurant, Sunset Ashram, and you can go either to the right or left or right in front of the restaurant.

We went to the left of the restaurant and found a smaller cove with soft sand and large rocks near the water’s edge. It had really gorgeous coastal views and some great snorkeling.

Next to us was a large rocky area similar to tidepools that the kids enjoyed exploring but we were sitting on soft sand.

You could walk up and down the beach of Cala Comte to discover many different, unique areas to explore.
Similar to all of the other beaches, I recommend arriving between 9 am and 10 am to secure a good parking spot and a spot on the beach as Cala Comte is popular.
4. Santa Gertrudis
Santa Gertrudis is a small but lovely village located near the center of Ibiza. A visit here came HIGHLY recommended from our snorkeling guide on our family boat trip (which btw you can check out here– it was our favorite day of our trip).
The main walking street is Carrer de la Venda des Poble and it’s lined with large trees and beautiful white-washed buildings with mustard yellow trim.

Our guide mentioned how Santa Gertrudis is known among locals, visitors, the wealthy, hippies and everyone in between. There are many boutique shops (some very nice) and a few smaller souvenir shops with touristy trinkets.

There is an adorable ice creamery called Vivi’s and an eatery called Bar Costa, which is a great place to try the traditional ham and cheese bocadillo (sandwich) for cheap.

Bar Costa is very popular among locals. We tried a few different sandwiches from Bar Costa and the traditional ham and cheese was by far the best.

There’s even a playground which was still a bit shaded when we arrived around 10 am. You can find it on Google Maps here.
5. Cala Saladeta
Cala Saladeta is a beautiful, sandy beach lined with the cutest boat houses and has stunning, crystal clear water that stays shallow for quite a way out.
If you want to get up close and personal with some of the iconic Ibiza boat houses, but also want a soft, sandy beach, then Cala Saladeta is the beach for you.

Cala Saladeta is the most adventurous beach on this list (but not TOO adventurous) that requires a 10-minute walk on a well-established path along the cliff (and that’s after the long staircase from the parking area).
But don’t worry, if my 3-year-old can do the walk, so can you.
The first beach you see after the staircase from the parking area is Cala Salada. It is a pebbly beach with boat houses lining the left side along large flat rocks where people sunbathe, and the beach itself also has beds and umbrellas for rent.

Cala Salada is definitely the less popular of the two beaches, as most who arrive continue their walk to Cala Saladeta.
We saw some super fun-looking jet ski tours arrive in the cove and do a loop before heading back out again, which seems like a unique way to see Cala Saladeta. If that sounds interesting to you, this jet ski tour has great reviews!

Or you can search other jet ski tours in Ibiza on my favorite platforms Viator or Get Your Guide.
Cala Salada/Saladeta has a great parking area, however, these beaches are popular and the parking area fills up fast. We arrived at 9:30 am in June and were able to get a spot; however, in peak summer, I recommend arriving closer to 9 am.

If that first lot is full, there is a second parking lot that would be a huge trek up a big hill in the heat (which looked pretty miserable), or you can park at a couple of different satellite parking lots and take a bus to the beach.
The bus service only operates from May to October, and you can find the timetables and stops with parking here.
6. Casa Tam Tam
I would say the top thing about our trip to Ibiza that helped us escape the crowds and any party scene was where we stayed (and it was beautiful too!).

We stayed in a renovated apartment at Casa Tam Tam located in the center of the island in a quiet, nice part of Ibiza. Can Tam Tam truly is a beautiful oasis accessed via a bumpy dirt road in the forest.

Casa Tam Tam features 3 different rentals on the same property, some even with their own private pools. We rented a 1-bedroom unit with access to a large, beautiful pool shared with just one other unit. It was amazing.

The flowering bushes and gorgeous cacti gardens were immaculate and a welcome sight after a long day out in the sun. We loved eating poolside dinners in the shade every evening and waking up in a quiet, beautiful environment.
Whenever we drove through larger towns with large, busy hotels, we commented how grateful we were for our secluded, quiet, and relaxing accommodations.
It was so nice to return to Can Tam Tam after a long day at the beach and know we could play in the pool or just relax outside for the rest of the evening.

If you’re looking for a beautiful place to stay in a super nice area of Ibiza, I recommend checking out Can Tam Tam.
7. Cala GracionetA
Of all the beaches we visited, Cala Gracioneta was the quietest and smallest cove. It’s similar to Cala Saladeta (that I mentioned above) in that you can park right above a beach called Cala Gracio, and then you take a short walk over some rocks to reach Cala Gracioneta (it’s just a couple of minute walk and very easy).

Cala Gracioneta has gorgeous, clear blue and green water with super soft, white sand. The entire back of the cove’s beach is taken up by a very beautiful restaurant called Cala Gracioneta Chiringuito and a handful of lovely sunbeds and umbrellas for rent.

The cove is very cozy and tucked away from everything and although it had many visitors when we were there in June, it was not overcrowded.

The parking lot for Cala Gracio/Gracioneta is quite small, so I recommend getting there between 9 am and 10 am to secure a spot. You can find it on Google Maps here. We visited in June and arrived around 9:30 and didn’t have a problem getting a space.

Otherwise, you may be able to find some on-street parking, but it will be a bit tricky. Or you can walk 2 kilometers from San Antoni or take this bus from San Antoni from May to October.
