Why I Switched to Lyrical Host from Bluehost
When I first started blogging, I chose Bluehost as my host because it was recommended in many beginner blogging guides.
Looking back now, I realize that many of those bloggers who were recommending Bluehost were no longer even using Bluehost but were still recommending it ‘for beginners.’
The only reason I could see recommending Bluehost for a beginner is that their starter plans often have extremely low monthly prices for the first year (around $5 per month), but they do go up the following year to around $12 per month.
On the other hand, the basic Lyrical Host plan starts (and stays) at $16 per month for a one-year plan.
Those extra $4 per month is BY FAR one of the best investments I’ve made in my blog based soley off of the help I’ve received from the support team, but there are many other reasons as well.
Another reason I switched from Bluehost is that in the two years I was with Bluehost, I received multiple notifications that my site was down.
I’ve now been with Lyrical Host for 4+ years, and I don’t think I’ve ever received one notification that my site is down.

I feel like I often don’t realize what I need or want until AFTER I’ve made a decision and start using my new service.

One of the most difficult things about blogging is that you constantly have to learn new things, and for me, some of the most difficult things to learn were the backend, technical things for my blog.

Creating a customer support ticket with Lyrical Host is super easy. All you need to do is login to your Lyrical Host platform, click on ‘tickets’ and ‘new ticket’ and you’re there!
Sometimes you don’t even need to create a ticket because they have links to tutorials for SO MANY frequently asked questions that you can easily learn how to do it and resolve your issue yourself.
The Lyrical Host support team consists of professional web developers who are kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of blogging and website maintenance.
I’m always communicating with the same two to three agents who genuinely seem to care about me and my site.
When I reached out to my previous host (Blue Host), I was always talking with someone different, their answers were brief, and they hardly ever fixed things for me. Sometimes, their ‘fixes’ would actually make things worse 😞.
